We are thrilled to announce our Scholarship Fund to support members of New Destiny Baptist Church who seek financial assistance to pursue higher education. Through the establishment of this Scholarship Fund, New Destiny Baptist Church reaffirms its commitment to the academic and spiritual growth of its members.
The Fund not only provides financial assistance but also honors the pursuit of education as a pathway to personal development and community leadership. The fund will be applied toward tuition and expenses at an accredited college, university, technical school, or certification program.
This year’s 2026 award is to be presented to NDBC graduating high school seniors.
Application Procedure
- Applications are now being accepted and can be obtained in the church office or download the form below.
- Only completed applications will be considered. A complete application includes:
- A current academic transcript
- One letter of recommendation
- A recent photo
- A personal essay
- Applications must be submitted to the church office by May 08, 2026. Late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
- Typed applications are preferred. Applicants may attach additional pages to fully address any questions. It is important that responses be thorough and reflective to aid the Committee’s evaluation.
- Questions may be directed to the Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Deaconess Irish Curry, at 540-446-3182.
- The Scholarship Committee will review all submissions and notify applicants of their decision by mid-June, via postal mail.
- Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the award presentation ceremony, held during a worship service in June. If unable to attend, the recipient must notify the Committee Chair in advance.
- Scholarships are awarded for one academic year only. Recipients may be awarded one scholarship to be sent to a college or an institution accredited to provide a certification program.
Funding and Financial Administration
All contributions to the Scholarship Fund shall be made payable to New Destiny Baptist Church, with the designation “Scholarship Fund".
